GB curlers achieve clean sweep, with Snoop Dogg in attendance
Great Britain’s team has preserved a perfect winning streak in the Winter Olympics mixed doubles competition, achieving wins against both Sweden and South Korea.
Team USA secured a win against previously unbeaten Canada, with Snoop Dogg in attendance, cheering them on.
Although Snoop Dogg drew significant attention at the Cortina Curling Stadium on Friday, Team GB's duo delivered notable performances, maintaining their perfect record in the Winter Olympics mixed doubles with a 100% win rate.
Following the morning session, Snoop Dogg, who is serving as a Team USA hype man and "honorary coach" in the Italian mountain resort, took to the ice for a practice session in front of a small crowd.
Prior to that, the 54-year-old had requested a selfie with Jen Dodds and Bruce Mouat, fresh from their 7-4 victory over Sweden, a team that had beaten them in the bronze medal match in 2022.
According to Bruce Mouat, Snoop Dogg asked for a photo with them, which left Mouat feeling pleased, while Jen Dodds revealed that Snoop Dogg mentioned he had heard about Mouat.
In the afternoon session, underdog South Korea suffered a comfortable 8-2 defeat, leaving Britain with five consecutive wins.
The Scottish duo, currently at the top of the standings, are close to securing a spot in the semi-finals and potentially earning a medal.
Curling experts believe that six wins in the nine round-robin games may be sufficient to secure a place in Monday's last four, and the GB duo is now just one win shy of that target.
On Saturday, they will face two challenging matches against the teams closest to them in the table, starting with Canada at 09:05 GMT, followed by the undefeated United States at 13:35 GMT, with both matches broadcast live on the BBC.

Mouat and Dodds competed in their fifth game in less than 40 hours, but they showed no signs of fatigue, instead establishing an early lead, similar to their morning game.
South Korea, who had not won in their first three matches, took the hammer but Britain stole three shots in the first two ends, gaining an advantage they would maintain throughout the game.
BBC Sport pundit and 2022 Olympic gold medallist Vicky Wright praised Jen and Bruce, stating that they consistently applied pressure on Korea, never relenting.
After a few inconsistent games, Bruce Mouat lifted his performance on Friday, and with partner Jen Dodds, who has been consistently excellent, they formed a strong team.
Dodds has been one of the top performers so far, with only Sweden's Isabella Wranaa statistically outperforming her in the first two days.
However, neither Wranaa nor South Korea's Kim Seon-yeong could match Dodds' performance, as she helped secure a significant lead for Britain.
A pair of points scored by Dodds opened up a 5-1 lead at the interval, and further steals after Kim faltered increased the distance between the teams with two ends remaining.
At this point, the outcome of the game was all but certain, and when South Korea could only take one point in the penultimate end, the result was confirmed, and the teams shook hands.
Vicky Wright noted that while five consecutive wins are a promising start, the next day's matches would be crucial, as Team GB faces Canada, who have only lost once to the USA, and the undefeated USA.
Txema Mazet-Brown, the 2024 junior world champion in big air, made his Olympic debut.
At the Livigno Snow Park in the Italian Alps, 19-year-old Txema Mazet-Brown became the first Team GB athlete in action, competing in big air qualifying.
Mazet-Brown placed 21st with a score of 151.75, failing to progress to Saturday's final, as only the top 12 athletes qualified.
In an interview with BBC Sport, Mazet-Brown expressed satisfaction with his performance, acknowledging that it could have been improved with cleaner execution in one of his runs.
Mazet-Brown described the experience of competing in the Olympics as "really special," admitting to feeling a mix of emotions, including pride and some nervousness, but overall, he was happy to be a part of the event.
Mazet-Brown will compete again on 16 February in slopestyle qualifying, an event for which he feels more prepared.

US inflation slows as used vehicle prices decline
According to the most recent official data, prices increased by 2.4% over the 12 months ending in January, marking the smallest gain since May.
The US experienced a slowdown in inflation last month, driven by decreases in energy and used car prices.

According to the Labor Department, the consumer price index increased by 2.4% over the past 12 months, ending in January, marking a decline from the previous month's 2.7% and the slowest rate since May.
This development may support the argument made by US President Donald Trump and others that the central bank has the flexibility to lower interest rates without triggering a surge in prices.
However, analysts caution that progress toward the Federal Reserve's inflation target of 2% may be hindered in the coming months if companies begin to pass on tariff costs to consumers more extensively.
Neil Birrell, chief investment officer at Premier Miton Investors, noted that the impact of tariffs remains uncertain and pointed out other data anomalies that could have influenced the January figures.
Birrell stated that the January report is likely to pave the way for a potential rate cut in the near future.
He added that the US economy appears to be performing well, with strong growth, stable inflation, a robust job market, and a Federal Reserve that has the ability to adjust its policies as needed.

Court rejects bid to overturn single-sex toilet rules
Critics argued that the guidelines provided for establishments, including hospitals, retail stores, and eateries, contained legal inaccuracies and were overly simplistic in nature.
A recent ruling by a High Court judge has upheld the Equality and Human Rights Commission's stance on guidance regarding toilet and changing room access for transgender individuals in public and workplace settings.

In April of the previous year, the EHRC released interim guidance, which was subsequently withdrawn six months later, stating that single-sex facilities should be restricted to individuals of the same biological sex.
According to the guidance, a transgender woman, who is biologically male but identifies as female, would be expected to utilize a gender-neutral or male facility, rather than female-designated toilets and changing rooms.
Critics argued that the EHRC's guidance for employers, including establishments like hospitals, shops, and restaurants, was flawed and oversimplified.
During the November hearing, the EHRC maintained that its temporary guidance did not infringe upon the human rights of transgender individuals.
Mr Justice Swift denied the Good Law Project's application for a judicial review, but requested further submissions from all parties to determine whether an appeal would be permitted.
The EHRC's withdrawn guidance was issued in the wake of a Supreme Court ruling in April 2025, which clarified that the terms "woman" and "sex" under the 2010 Equality Act refer to biological sex and women.
The EHRC is currently developing a comprehensive code of practice, which is under review by the government.
